Sellersville was founded in the 18th century and was centered on a major road known as the famous Bethlehem Pike, which connected Philadelphia to Bethlehem and points west. The center of the town still runs along the Bethlehem Pike, which is now called Old Route 309. Sellersville is approximately 30 miles north of Philadelphia, 22 miles south of Allentown, and only 2 miles from its larger neighboring town, Perkasie.

Sellersville sure has its distinct character though, with several historic buildings and restaurants:

  • The Sellersville Theatre: Built in 1894, the theater is an intimate live music and comedy venue with 325 seats. In 2023, as part of Sellersville’s revitalization efforts, a huge 40–foot mural was unveiled on the front of the theatre
  • Located right next to the Sellersville Theatre is the historic Washington House Hotel and Restaurant. The Washington House was originally built in 1742. The building has been expanded and renovated several times since then. The restaurant housed a speakeasy during Prohibition. In 2016, the restaurant space was renovated again, and the hotel was reopened as a boutique hotel with 11 luxurious hotel rooms on 3 levels.  Ironically, stables originally belonging to the Washington House to board horses for their customers, are where the Sellersville Theatre was built.
  • Arielle’s Country Inn: This historic Greystone building dates back to 1754! It was used as a stagecoach stop in the 18th century. The restaurant still exists today, where you can dine in oil lamp lighting, eat hard – to – find delicacies, and even eat in the private garden patio amid a beautiful flower garden.
  • Want more history? Fasageo’s Italian Restaurant is housed in a historic building that has been a continuously running inn since the mid – 1700’s. The original log structure has been incorporated into the current structure, so you can enjoy a humongous dinner array of 21 pastas, 16 old style Italian favorites, and 15 seafoods, all in a historic ambiance where so many have been entertained since colonial times!
  • And finally, the Roy Ann Diner: A traditional diner from the past, with counter and booth seating. The Roy Ann Diner has been offering “quality food (including 6 seafood dinners, 8 different chicken platters, a few selections of beef and pork) excellent, fast friendly service, and affordable prices” since 1953.
