Plymouth Meeting is a lovely little town located about 19 miles north of Philadelphia with a population of about 6,800. Plymouth Meeting was named after the Plymouth Friends Meetinghouse and is located at the confluence of 3 major highways (I-276-PA Turnpike, I-476 -Mid-County Express, and I-476-Pa Turnpike-Northeast Extension). Being located at this busy interchange has led to much regional commerce and was a major driver of business and retail development here. A shining example of this is the incredible Plymouth Meeting Mall. Spanning almost 1,000,000 square feet, it is known for its unique appearance, as it is recognized from a considerable distance away due to an adjoining 9-story office tower, One Plymouth Meeting. Originally built in 1966 with a large fountain and a 2-story carousel, the mall was redeveloped in 2007 to add an open-air “Lifestyle Wing “, a central food court, and many new restaurants. This greatly added to the continued popularity of the Plymouth Meeting Mall, which features:
- LEGOLAND Discovery Center is the ultimate indoor LEGO playground. You travel through an interactive LEGO world via the Imagination Express. Watch your favorite LEGO characters on action-packed adventures in the 4D Cinema. Explore MINILAND; a spectacular miniature replica of Philadelphia’s most iconic landmarks that consists of over 1 million LEGO bricks! Build your own LEGO creation or meet some of your favorite large-than-life LEGO characters.
- The incredible AMC Theatre. This huge movie theatre is over 48,000 square feet and has 12 different screens, stadium seating, AMC Signature Recliners, and AMC’s MacGuffin Bar, where you can order a glass of beer, wine, or one of their crafted cocktails while watching a flick.
- Popular restaurants, such as California Pizza Kitchen, feature a unique style of pizza that combines French and Italian techniques and presentations with fresh local ingredient-focused flavors. P.F. Changes is a unique fusion cuisine that combines elements of different culinary traditions that originate from different countries, regions, or cultures, and also offers a variety of Asian – inspired dishes. Redstone American Grill is an upscale, high-end “Barbeque” restaurant that features various priced steaks, pork, and fish on a wood-fired grill, all in an atmosphere of open spaces, a central bar, and an open kitchen with a wood–burning grill and rotisserie. Benihana is a restaurant concept of Japanese meals prepared tableside by a knife-wielding, joke-telling chef at teppanyaki tables.
