Easton is the “easternmost” city of the 3 major cities in the Lehigh Valley, and the city's core is its fabulous downtown area. Located directly at the confluence of the Lehigh and Delaware Rivers, the scenery is incredible, highlighted by the Delaware Waterfront. The waterfront offers boat launches, hike and bike trails, fishing, and 2 wonderful parks that are separate historical Northampton Street Bridge (the famous “Free Bridge”) that crosses into New Jersey. The 2 parks are connected by pedestrian pathways and a bikeway, and the parks contain a large open-air amphitheater and a large covered–stage amphitheater.
Up and Coming Easton
The Downtown Easton area has undergone an incredible revitalization over the past 2 decades, due in no small part to the efforts of the Easton Main Street Initiative. The initiative has brought many new businesses, retailers, shops, and restaurants (oh my, there are restaurants everywhere), to an area that had a very high vacancy rate. Easton was named 1 of 9, “Towns in Pennsylvania with the Best Downtown Areas” by WorldAtlas.
There are so many attractions downtown and 2 of the major ones are the Easton Farmers’ Market and the Easton Public Market. The Easton Farmers’ Market is the oldest continuously running open-air market in the country, established in 1752! You can eat, shop, dine, and imbibe at the Easton Public Market, which features artisanal food vendors, a farm stand, and a demonstration kitchen that holds food-tasting events and more. A hidden gem there is Chocodiem; with exquisite chocolates handcrafted in the Belgium tradition.
Flavors Found in Easton

Thyme Rooftop Grille offers an incredible, unique food menu with breathtaking views of the Delaware River and the Easton skyline. The Gusto Hospitality Group, already the owners of Three Oak Steakhouse, River Grille, and Townley House has just opened Albanesi Restaurant & Bar. Albanesi features flavors and influences from Albania, Italy, Greece, and other countries in the region.
