There’s no shortage of amazing restaurants in the Lehigh Valley, but it is a small local diner in Bethlehem that’s making headlines. Hanoverville Roadhouse will be featured on America’s Best Restaurants, also known as ABR, a national restaurant media and marketing company.

ABR travels all around the country, gathering and telling stories about independently owned restaurants. On August 15, they will visit Hanoverville Roadhouse and feature their story on the media company’s social media accounts.

Hanoverville Roadhouse has been easy to overlook ever since recent construction developments redirected traffic from the area. However, that hasn’t kept ABR from finding this local gem and making them better known to people throughout the Lehigh Valley—and even nationwide!

Why had ABR taken such an interest in this quaint little restaurant? It all comes down to Hanoverville Roadhouses’ inspiring backstory, great food, and strong sense of community.

Hanoverville Roadhouse was founded by Mark Dennis about five years ago. Dennis is a construction worker who has a long-history of doing side-jobs as a bartender. When he bought the restaurant, he put his skills to work, transforming a run-down and neglected diner into one of the locals’ favorite spots. Visitors appreciate historic artwork and artifacts that preserve the town’s heritage—and of course—great food.

Dennis’s mother also helped with the renovations, and she makes and sells one-of-a-kind desserts, like her “piecaken,” which is a pie backed right into a cake! Patrons also love the restaurants’ reuban pierogies and butter rum chicken, just to name a few.

All this and more will be discussed during the America’s Best Restaurant’s interview. After the filming is completed in August, the heir date will be announced on the Hanoverville Roadhouse Facebook page, as well as the America’s Best Restaurant’s website.
