The outdoor center has a magnificent Main Street, with old-fashioned street lamps, a Town Square with a stone gazebo, fire pits, an interactive jet fountain, and so much more. The city of Bethlehem owns 39 park sites consisting of over 568 acres! Our favorite ones are Illick’s Mill Park with the gorgeous Monocacy Creek flowing through it, and picturesque San Island. Lying along the Lehigh river and directly across from the old Bethlehem Steel location, it doesn’t get any better for people who love to work out at San Island. There are clay tennis courts, basketball courts, a club house, and wonderful hiking trails that wind around a creek and the scenic Lehigh River. The view up close to the Lehigh River is spectacular!
